Small Australian Projects' On Show exhibition - Phoebe lamp

In an effort to represent multiplicity of design in Australia, SAP has begun a series of exhibitions called On Show. These exhibitions aim to showcase emerging Australian design and provide a platform for these designers to launch their product.

Peter Harding, a local Brisbane designer and his light Phoebe was the first of these exhibitions. The night was a huge success and Peter and his Phoebe drew a crowd of over 100 people. Below is a brief introduction to Peter and Pheobe and some images from the evening.

We look forward to Paul Liddy's exhibition on the 5th of August and hope to see you all there.

Peter and Phoebe

Peter Harding is a designer currently based in Brisbane.

Phoebe is a lamp also currently based in Brisbane.

Peter believes that there needs to well designed, affordable products on the market.

Phoebe is a product that is trying to be well designed and as affordable as possible.

Peter believes that it’s worth subjecting the market to an original idea.

Phoebe is a lamp unlike any Peter has seen before.

Peter thinks that 2D patterns and designs like wall paper and fabrics make great lamp coverings.

Phoebe is a lamp who’s appearance is rendered or animated by an insert of patterned paper or abric.

Peter believes that if you look at something every day and it’s always the same it can become a little boring.

Phoebe is able to be very easily changed to have a new look by simply removing one decorative insert and replacing it with another.

Pheobe is available at the SAP showroom and retails at $90.00.
